- A small rural brigade with its engine housed in a wooden shed. Post WW2 it was designated C5 by Surrey Fire Brigade, but the brigade was dis-banded in 1960.

- The village had its own Fire Brigade, formed in 1897. G. C. Halahan was captain; Thomas Heighes, sub-captain, and Horace Laker the engineer. There were 10 firemen with an engine that had been paid for and presented to them by the parishioners
